At our 2015 NACSA Leadership Conference in Denver, NACSA invited leaders to talk one-on-one with us about their vocation. In our Story Suite, these conversations focused less on the WHAT of authorizing and more on the WHY of authorizing: why we do this work, and why we believe it is making a difference. These leaders are just a few of the many who inspire and drive our One Million Lives campaign.

What follows are edited transcript excerpts of Part 1 of our conversation with one such leader: Gail Greely, director of the Charter Authorizers Regional Support Network, a program of the Alameda County Office of Education.
